The supernatural environment of “Little Wolf” is fishermen’s paradise all year long!

All five species of Pacific Salmon, as well as the giant Steelhead-Trout, are migrating into these rivers.

      Spring

      Spring

In March, water levels are low and temperatures are mostly below zero. The first Steelhead-Trout are running.

In April, fresh runs of Steelhead-Trout arrive from the ocean. At this time, fly-fishing from shore or drift-boat fishing is excellent! Big Chinook-Salmon are migrating up the Skeena River and are entering the Kalum River.

In May, Steelhead-Trout can still be caught! Fishing is good for giant Chinook-Salmon, especially in the Skeena River and its tributaries as well as in the Kalum River.

      Summer

      Summer

June is the time when the giant Spring-Salmon is entering the main stream of the Skeena River. High water and murky water may cause to focus on other tributaries or on river systems which show clear water conditions. Mid of June, the Kitimat River is rich of fresh silver Chinook-Salmon. Fishing on the Pacific Ocean in front of Prince Rupert or Kitimat for Saltwater-SalmonHalibut and Red Snapper as well as catching Crab and Shrimp always is a choice.

July is the prime time for targeting the giant King-Salmon everywhere, but mainly in the mighty Skeena River. Not only fishermen from all over the world, also the local fishermen, are fishing for the giant King-Salmon to that time, targeting the biggest Salmon of the world! Also summer-run Steelhead-Trout are making their way up the Skeena River. It is the dream of every fly-fisherman to catch one of these brilliant fishes once in a lifetime!

August is the time when the Chinook-Salmon season ends, as the time for spawning approaches. Giant Steelhead-Trout and the first Coho-Salmon are running into the Skeena River. Silver Sockeye-Salmon, arriving fresh from the ocean to that time, are enriching the fly-fishing adventure!

      Fall

      Fall

September is the prime time for summer-run Steelhead.
Fly-fishing conditions are perfect! Also the main-run of the silver Northern-Coho is filling most of the rivers. These fish are strong fighters and can grow to over 20 pounds! Numerous Dolly Warden Trout are also entering the rivers to that time.

October and November is the prime time for fishing for Steelhead-Trout and silver Coho-Salmon. If fly, spinner or float, it does not make any difference! To that time there is a lot of fish in the rivers and it is mostly very aggressive!
